Breitbart News: Bannon, Priebus are among those to blame for Trump’s loss
Breitbart News is reporting that the former White House chief strategist and senior adviser to President Donald Trump has admitted that he made a mistake in making a statement to a reporter before the election, during which he claimed that the Democratic Party was a “farce” and a “fraud” in order to convince voters to support him.
According to a new report, Bannon, the former chief strategist of Breitbart News, also admitted that Trump’s campaign’s strategy of using fear and panic to win the election was a mistake.
Breitbart News has reported that Bannon, who now serves as Trump’s national security adviser, told Fox News’ Bill Hemmer in an interview that he was referring to the Democratic National Committee as a “false flag operation.”
“I made a very bad decision,” Bannon told Hemmer.
“It was a stupid mistake.
And, yes, it was wrong, and I regret it.
But I know what we did wrong.”
Bannon said that he had made a series of mistakes that would help Trump to defeat Hillary Clinton.
“I think the reason I made that statement, Bill, is that we had to make the statement.
And the way I look at it, was we had a farce going on.
And I made a bad judgment,” Bannon said.
“We were playing this whole thing up, we were playing up the conspiracy, the Russian hacking, all these things.
And we had this fake news narrative that was going around that we were being attacked by this shadowy entity that had infiltrated our country.
And it was a very fake story.
And so, the reason that I made the statement is because it was the right decision.”
The statement from Bannon to Hemmer was written after a reporter had asked him whether he thought Trump was likely to win because of the Democrats’ alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
“Donald Trump is not going to win,” Bannon wrote.
“Hillary Clinton is a fraud and a liar and a traitor.”
Trump, however, had previously stated that he thought Bannon would win, and he told Hemming that he would work with Bannon if he was the Republican nominee.
“Bannon is one of the smartest people I know,” Trump told Hemmers.
“He is a realist.
He’s not a political genius.
He doesn’t know anything.
He can be totally rational.
He has a lot of insight.
And he is not afraid to say things that others don’t want to hear.
But, I don’t know what his plans are, Bill.
And that is why I think he should be our next president.”
