‘Weird Al’ Yankovic: We’ll get another show soon, and ‘American Ninja Warrior’ is the next thing I want to see!
The “Weirdalicious” singer and comedian, who has been battling stage four colon cancer for the last three years, said Thursday he’ll be releasing a new album on Feb. 6.
He also told reporters he’ll make a new TV show “soon.”
“It’s going to be very exciting to get out of stage four,” Yankiewicz said.
“The last year and a half I’ve been on chemo, and I’m hoping to be able to get through this year, which is probably longer than I have in the past.
And then the next album is going to hopefully be the next show.”
Yankiewicz, a regular on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” has said in the last two years that he’ll only return to the stage after completing the chemo treatment.
He said he’s hopeful his health can improve in the near future, and that his wife is “really excited about the new show.”
He said the show will take place in his hometown of Nashville, Tenn., which is also where his brother is from.
